Exhaustion among CPS workers affecting children’s rights

Hillary NappiHach Rose Schirripa & Cheverie LLP attorney Hillary Nappi was featured in a Texas Lawyer article titled “CPS workers are exhausted — and it’s affecting the legal rights of children.” These workers have challenging, emotionally draining work, and when they aren’t given the time they need to decompress, it can lead to worse outcomes in the lives of the children they are trying to help.

Four attorneys from across the nation were asked if they’ve noticed the challenges CPS workers are dealing with in their work, including Hillary Nappi. When asked, she pointed out that

“It is essential that child protection service workers are supported by their agencies to prevent burnout and vicarious trauma or the population they seek to serve will remain underserved.”
