Giving Survivors a Voice
Through Empathetic Representation

As children we trust the adults that care for us. Many times we are literally told to “trust an adult” in situations that we are placed in by our parents or caregivers raising us. We don’t have the skill or ability to understand who we should or should not be weary of. Many times we are powerless to the situations and the adults we are placed in close contact with. As children we have yet to fully develop the part of us able to register when a situation or relationship crosses the line into inappropriate. We are innocent and all we want to do is play and have fun.

However, that trust is destroyed when those in positions of power use it to take advantage of vulnerable children, teenagers, and adult women and men. Often times, this abuse comes in the form of sexual abuse, exploitation, harassment or rape.

When these unwanted acts occur survivors are left with long-lasting emotional, mental, and physical scars.

For over 30 years, our compassionate sexual abuse lawyers at Hach & Rose LLP have helped numerous sexual abuse survivors regain their self-worth, re-establish their voice through the justice that is available through the law. Overcoming physical and emotional trauma is a long process but the structure of a lawsuit helps to establish a road map toward justice and recovery. While we recognize that no amount of money can ever erase the pain one has experienced, we believe justice and healing can only occur when perpetrators and institutions have been held accountable by the law.

Our commitment to you:

  1. We will hear your story with empathy and respect
  2. We will advise you of your legal rights
  3. We will put our resources behind you
According to the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), an American is sexually assaulted every 92 seconds. The organization also points out some other startling statistics, including:
  • Around 1 out of every 6 women have been subjected to attempted or completed rape in her lifetime.
  • Around 1 out of 33 men have experienced an attempted or completed rape in his lifetime.
  • Approximately 63,000 children fall victim to sexual abuse a year.

These statistics paint a truly horrifying picture of how many children, women, and men that are sexually abused annually in the United States. While many of their abusers may face justice, the unfortunate truth is that time limitations have previously made it extremely difficult for survivors to file a legal claim against those who harmed them.

Thankfully, new laws – such as the New York Child Victims Act – are expanding the time limit that individuals have to file a claim against those who sexually abused them.

At Hach and Rose, we are committed to giving our clients their voice back and helping rebuild their lives after suffering.
